Partnering with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority to Fight Hunger in New Castle

What does it mean to be part of a community? At Nucar Chevrolet of New Castle, we believe it means showing up for our neighbors. That’s why we are incredibly proud to highlight a recent partnership through our Nucar Cares program. We joined forces with the inspiring women of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. – Sigma Zeta Omega Chapter and our partners at Caliber Collision for a food drive to combat local hunger, and the results were truly heartwarming.

Filling an Equinox for a Great Cause

We recently had the honor of welcoming the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. to our dealership. Led by Chapter President Karen Knight and Co-Chair of Statewide Connection, Sherry Dorsey-Walker—who we are also proud to call a valued Nucar customer—these dedicated women arrived with a vehicle full of purpose. They collected enough food donations to completely fill up a new Chevrolet Equinox, showcasing just how much good can be done when we work together.

This impressive haul of food is a testament to their hard work and the generosity of our community, helping to ensure that families right here in the New Castle area have food on their tables. It’s a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when we unite for a common cause.

This event is a cornerstone of our Nucar Cares initiative. We believe that our responsibility extends far beyond the showroom floor on N Dupont Hwy. It’s about actively participating in and enriching the community where we all live and work. Whether it’s supporting families in Wilmington or helping out neighbors in Newark, our goal is to be a positive force for change. The Nucar Cares program is our commitment to supporting health, education, and community engagement, and this partnership is a perfect example of that promise in action.
