Nucar Cares Supports 93.7 WSTW’s Backpack Program & Radiothon

No child should have to wonder where their next meal is coming from. That’s why Nucar Chevrolet of New Castle is proud to support 93.7 WSTW’s Backpack Program & Radiothon benefiting the Food Bank of Delaware.

Hunger affects families throughout Delaware. According to information shared by WSTW, 1 in 7 children in Delaware faces hunger. The Food Bank of Delaware’s Backpack Program helps meet an especially important need when children are away from school.

Helping Delaware Children Beyond the School Week

For many children, school meals provide an important source of dependable nutrition. Weekends, holidays, and other school breaks can create a gap for families already facing food insecurity.

The Food Bank of Delaware’s Backpack Program helps bridge that gap by providing children in need with nutritious, easy-to-prepare food they can have when school is not in session and school meal programs are unavailable.

Small contributions can have a meaningful impact. WSTW reports that just 82 cents a day can help provide one child with weekend and holiday food for an entire year.

Join the WSTW Radiothon on September 9

The community can donate now or take part in WSTW’s special 12-hour radiothon on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Throughout the day, 93.7 WSTW will help raise awareness and encourage listeners across Delaware to support the Food Bank of Delaware and the children served by its Backpack Program.

September is also Hunger Action Month, making this a timely opportunity for individuals, families, and businesses to come together around a need that affects children right here in our state.
